Mrs. Yamile Francese is the Assistant to the Head of School and runs the upper school.  Mr. Shawn Brown reports directly to her as the Diploma Program Coordinator.

The Middle Years Program (Grades 6-10) organizes the curriculum through the five areas of interaction.  These include the Approaches to Learning, Community and Service, Human Ingenuity, Environments, and Health and Social Education.  This program encourages international-mindedness with a strong foundation in the student’s own culture.  The use of the learner profile is also taught in the MYP and it emphasizes the development of the whole student.  Real life application of skills is seen at Boca Prep.

There are eight subject groups:  Language A (English), Language B (Spanish), Humanities, Sciences, Math, Arts, Technology, and Physical Education.

The Diploma Program (Grades 11-12) is a very challenging academic program that prepares students for college and beyond.  Students must take three higher level and three standard level classes with one subject chose from each of the six subject groups.  Again the learner profile is taught and acted on.  In addition, full diploma students have three more requirements, which include an extended essay on a subject of their choice, a theory of knowledge class, and 150 hours of creativity, action and service.  Students may choose to take the full diploma or chose to study for individual IB certificates in specific subjects.  The demands are very strenuous.  The students take written exams at the end of the two years which are graded by external moderators.
