Our History

Boca Prep is a PK to 12 International Baccalaureate World School, founded in 1999. It belongs to the International Education System (IES) group of schools, a subdivision of SEK, an international educational organization with eighteen schools and three universities on three continents. IES promotes the development of young people who will have the capacity to contribute proactively to the ongoing work towards a better world. SEK was instrumental in the development of the IB Diploma in the 1980’s and 1990’s. The authorization of the school as an IB World School in 2009 by offering the Diploma Program has led to increased academic expectations and standards. The authorization of the Middle Years Program in 2012 has increased opportunities for our middle school students as well. Lastly, the Primary Years Program is on the right path to become authorized within the next few years. All three programs of the International Baccalaureate are offered to students, as well as extra-curricular activities, community service, performance programs, and the performing arts, are all emphasized alongside the highest expectations for academic engagement and attainment.
